A BRIEF HISTORY The Early Monday Morning Show was born in Michigan during the stand-up comedy explosion of the late 80’s. Its trend setting 5 year run captured fans with its combination of skit comedy, improv games and audience participation, opening the doors for many other improv troops to follow. Moving to Maryland in 2000, EMMS quickly became Baltimore’s Premiere Comedy Improv Troupe. The versatile cast has served as the ‘House Group’ at Spotlighters Theater, the Baltimore Improv and the Mobtown Theater during their long run. They have been heard on 98 Rock and Mix 106.5 and were the producers of the 1st Baltimore Comedy Fest in 2006. Equally at home in theaters, comedy clubs or private/corporate bookings, the most amazing fact about EMMS is that they have never gone more than 2 months without a performance. This makes them the most experienced professional improv troupe in Maryland history with over 100 shows logged. EMMS prides itself on their original skits and games as well as memorable characters. They rarely perform the same show twice. And always on the cutting edge, EMMS is currently working on their first feature length film to expand their creative talents. Perhaps most importantly, EMMS plans to continue their mission of supporting and promoting all comedy in Baltimore, from fellow improv troupes to standup comics. True fans of the Art, EMMS believes there exists a home for all of these talents and devotes much of their efforts towards finding a permanent venue to showcase the best Maryland has to offer. Skits. Improv Games. Standup. Music. Audience Interaction. The Early Monday Morning Show…your One Stop Comedy Shop! |
